  2. water - 8 cups

Instructions

  1. Prepare Rice: Wash 1 cup of rice in a bowl two to three times until the water runs clear.
  2. Boil Water: In a pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Cook Rice: Once boiling, add the washed rice to the pot, stir it, and bring it back to another boil.
  4. Simmer: Cover the pot partially and let it cook on medium heat for 25 minutes.
  5. Whisk: After 25 minutes, whisk the kanji rapidly and constantly for two to three minutes. This process gives the kanji its silky texture and saves at least another 30 minutes of cooking time.
  6. Season: Season the kanji with salt, chicken bouillon powder, and white pepper to taste. Alternatively, you can add a protein like chicken for a more substantial meal.
