  1. vegetable oil - 300ml (300ml)
  2. shallot - 1 (thinly sliced)
  3. serrano chilies - 2 (chopped)
  4. garlic cloves - 6 large (thinly sliced)
  5. star anise - 3
  6. black peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
  7. szechuan pepper - 1 teaspoon
  8. red chili flakes - 3 tablespoons
  9. soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  10. light brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  11. MSG - 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the sliced shallot, chopped serrano chilies, thinly sliced garlic cloves, and star anise.
  2. Fry Ingredients: Fry the ingredients for approximately 10 minutes, or until they become crisp and golden brown. Avoid overcooking or burning.
