Ingredients

  1. chickpeas (chana) - 1 can (rinsed and air dried)
  2. olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  3. scotch bonnet pepper - 1/2 (half, seeds and membrane can be removed to reduce heat)
  4. garlic - 3 cloves (crushed)
  5. sea salt - watch the video to see (to taste, added after cooking)
  6. Caribbean green seasoning - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Prepare Chickpeas: In a bowl, mix the rinsed and air-dried chickpeas with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  3. Cook in the Air Fryer: Place the chickpeas in the air fryer basket, trying to keep them in one layer. Cook at 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes. Shake the basket twice during cooking to ensure even crisping.
  4. Prepare Seasoning Mix: While the chickpeas are cooking, crush the garlic and scotch bonnet pepper together. Set aside.
  5. Season the Cooked Chickpeas: Once the chickpeas are cooked, immediately season them with the garlic and scotch bonnet mix, a pinch of sea salt, and 1 teaspoon of Caribbean green seasoning. Toss well to coat evenly.
