white bread - watch the video to see (use stale bread for best results; can use whole bread or just the white part)
salt - watch the video to see (added especially when bread is wet to draw out moisture)
flour (maida) - watch the video to see (optional, added if bread is not stale to help absorb moisture)
semolina - 1 teaspoon per 1 cup bread crumbs (optional, about 1 teaspoon per cup of bread crumbs to improve texture)
Instructions
Prepare the bread: Use stale white bread or whole bread. You can also use brown or whole wheat bread, but note that the crumbs will be darker.
Attach food processor: Attach the food processor attachment to your mixer.
Add ingredients: Put the bread pieces and salt into the food processor. Add flour if the bread is not stale. Optionally add semolina (1 teaspoon per cup of bread crumbs).
Pulse the mixture: Run the mixer slowly in pulses (run and stop repeatedly) to avoid forming dough. The bread crumbs should remain fluffy and intact.
Dry the trimmings: Do not throw away bread trimmings; dry them separately to use for dark bread crumbs.
Use or store: Use the bread crumbs as needed. Note that bread crumbs made from brown or whole wheat bread will be darker and may brown quickly when fried.
