Ingredients

  1. 70-30 beef mince - 160g (formed into 80g balls)
  2. American cheese - 2 slices
  3. soft potato bun - 1
  4. sweet onions - watch the video to see (very thinly sliced)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Onions: Slice the sweet onions very thinly using a mandolin or a deli slicer.
  2. Heat Skillet: Preheat your skillet to 280-300°F (140-150°C).
  3. Form Patties: Place the 80g balls of 70-30 beef mince on the skillet, season with salt, top with a generous amount of sliced onions, and smash.
  4. Cook: Cook until desired doneness, flipping once. After flipping, add American cheese to each patty and allow it to melt.
  5. Assemble Burger: Place the cooked patties on the soft potato bun. Optionally, add more onions on top before closing the burger with the top bun.
