Ingredients

  1. Cabbage - 1/2 medium (½ medium)
  2. Capsicum - 1/2 medium (½ medium)
  3. Onion - 1/2 medium (½ medium)
  4. Green chillies - 2 (2)
  5. Garlic - 3 cloves (3 cloves)
  6. Ginger - 1-inch piece (1-inch piece)
  7. Carrot - 1/2 medium (½ medium)
  8. Brown breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup (½ cup)
  9. Water - 1/4 cup (¼ cup)
  10. Black-eyed beans - 2 cups (soaked & boiled)
  11. Mint leaves - 2-3 tablespoons (chopped, 2-3 tablespoons)
  12. Fresh coriander - 2-3 tablespoons (chopped, 2-3 tablespoons)
  13. Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon (1 teaspoon or to taste)
  14. Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon (½ teaspoon)
  15. Cumin seeds - 2 teaspoons (roasted & crushed, 2 teaspoons)
  16. Coriander seeds - 2 teaspoons (roasted & crushed, 2 teaspoons)
  17. Himalayan pink salt - 1 teaspoon (1 teaspoon or to taste)
  18. Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons (2 tablespoons or as required)
  19. Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying, 2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. Chop Vegetables: Chop cabbage, capsicum, onion, green chillies, garlic, ginger and set aside.
  2. Grate Carrot: Grate carrot and set aside.
  3. Mash Beans: In a bowl, add brown breadcrumbs, water, black-eyed beans and mash well with a masher.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Add all chopped vegetables, mint leaves, fresh coriander, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, pink salt and mix until well combined.
  5. Shape Kababs: With wet hands, take a small quantity of mixture (60g) and make kababs of equal sizes.
  6. Coat Kababs: Roll the sides of kababs on sesame seeds to coat them.
  7. Fry Kababs: In a frying pan, add olive oil, heat it and shallow fry on low flame until golden brown (makes 11-12 kababs).
