Prepare the Steak: Lightly oil the Denver steak and season with a mixture of salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Grill the Steak: Grill the steak, giving it a good sear without burning it too much. Aim for a little charring. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side, then move to indirect heat and cover until it reaches an internal temperature of 125°F. Give it one more quick flash on the hot coals before resting.
