Ingredients

  1. curly red chili - 15 (about 15 pieces)
  2. red Thai chili - 8 (about 8 pieces)
  3. garlic - 5 (5 cloves)
  4. shallots - 5 (5 cloves)
  5. lime leaf - 3 (3 leaves, optional)
  6. oil - 100 ml (100 ml)
  7. stock powder - ½ tablespoon (½ tablespoon)
  8. sugar - 2 teaspoons (2 teaspoons)
  9. soy sauce - 1 tablespoon (1 tablespoon)
  10. sesame oil - 1 teaspoon (1 teaspoon)
  11. chicken wontons - 15 (15 pieces)

  13. white sesame seeds - watch the video to see (for garnish)
  14. sliced green onion - watch the video to see (for garnish)
  15. chili sauce - ½ tablespoon (optional, ½ tablespoon)
  16. black vinegar - 1-2 tablespoons (optional, 1-2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. Chop Ingredients: In a food chopper, add garlic, shallots, red Thai chili, curly red chili, and lime leaf. Blend until finely chopped.
  2. Sauté Ingredients: Heat oil in a pan, add the chopped ingredients, and sauté on low heat until fragrant and moisture evaporates.
  3. Add Seasonings: Add soy sauce, stock powder, sugar, and sesame oil to the sautéed mixture. Stir briefly and set aside.
  4. Boil Wontons: Boil chicken wontons for 4-5 minutes if cold, or 6-7 minutes if refrigerated, or thaw and boil for about 10 minutes if frozen.
  5. Mix Wontons with Sauce: In a bowl, mix chili oil, chili sauce, and black vinegar. Add cooked wontons and toss to coat.
  6. Serve: Serve the Chili Oil Wontons garnished with fried garlic, sesame seeds, and sliced green onion.
