Ingredients

  1. beef - 500 grams (tender cut like tenderloin)
  2. soy sauce - 2 tablespoons (for marinating)
  3. oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon (for marinating)
  4. ground black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon (to taste)
  5. baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon (to tenderize beef)
  6. cornstarch - 1 tablespoon (for thickening sauce)
  7. oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
  8. cabbage - 1 cup (chopped)
  9. carrots - 1/2 cup (sliced)
  10. red bell pepper - 1/2 cup (sliced)
  11. snap peas - 1/2 cup (or snow peas)
  12. water - 1 cup (for steaming and sauce)
  13. Magi magic sarap - to taste (seasoning)
  14. garlic - 2 cloves (minced)
  15. onion - 1 medium (chopped)
  16. onion leaves - 1/4 cup (chopped, green part added later)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Beef: Soak the beef in soy sauce, oyster sauce, ground black pepper, baking soda, and cornstarch. Add a little oil, mix well, and let it soak for 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables: Heat oil in a pan and stir-fry cabbage for about 1 minute. Add carrots, red bell pepper, and snap peas, sauté for another minute, then add water to steam. Cover and cook for 1 to 1.5 minutes.
  3. Season the Vegetables: Stir the vegetables and season with Magi magic sarap. Set aside.
  4. Cook the Beef: In the same pan, heat oil and add the marinated beef along with the remaining marinade. Cook until browned.
  5. Add Garlic and Onions: Add minced garlic and chopped onion (white part) to the beef. Cook for 1 to 1.5 minutes.
  6. Add Onion Leaves: Add the chopped onion leaves and water. Let the sauce thicken.
  7. Combine and Serve: Add the previously steamed vegetables to the beef mixture. Stir well and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Serve hot.
