Ingredients

  1. Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
  2. Blue band margarine - 2 tablespoons
  3. Zeera (Cumin seeds) - 1 teaspoon
  4. Laung (Cloves) - 2
  5. Darchini (Cinnamon stick) - 1
  6. Pyaz (Onion) - 1 small (sliced)
  7. Chawal (Rice) sella - 4 cups (soaked for 1 hour)
  8. Hot water - 3 cups (as required)
  9. Himalayan pink salt - ½ tablespoon (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Heat Oil: In a pot, add cooking oil, margarine & let it melt.
  2. Add Spices: Add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick & fry for 30 seconds.
  3. Sauté Onion: Add onion & fry on medium flame until light golden.
  4. Add Rice: Add rice & mix.
  5. Cook Rice: Add hot water, pink salt, mix well & cook on medium flame until water is reduced (2-3 minutes), cover & steam cook on low flame for 10-12 minutes.
