Ingredients
- bread flour - 200g or 1 cup + 5 tablespoons
- sugar - 1.5g or 1/2 teaspoon
- salt - 1.5g or 1/4 teaspoon
- instant yeast - 3g or 1 teaspoon
- water - 140ml
- olive oil - watch the video to see (as needed)
Instructions
- Prepare Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Gradually add water and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead Dough: Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth. Add olive oil as needed during the kneading process.
- First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size.
- Shape and Second Rise: Punch down the dough, shape it into a baguette, and let it rise again until puffy.
- Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 230°C (440°F) for 17-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
