  2. canola butter - 50 g (in aluminum foil)
  3. brown sugar - 150 g (for caramelizing)
  4. medium eggs - 3 (for the dough)
  5. granulated sugar - 150 g (for the dough)
  6. unsalted butter - 150 g (wrapped in aluminum foil)
  7. all-purpose flour - 150 g (for the dough)
  8. baking powder - 2 teaspoons (for the dough)
  9. vanilla pods - 2 (for flavor)
  10. orange zest - from 1 orange (for flavor)
  11. salt - to taste (for serving)
  12. ice cream - to taste (for serving)
  13. diosmy leaves - to taste (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Caramel: In a frying pan, add brown sugar and melted canola butter. Heat until caramelized.
  2. Prepare the Oranges: Peel the oranges and cut them in half.
  3. Caramelize the Oranges: Place the orange halves cut side down in the caramel mixture.
  4. Bake the Oranges: Transfer the pan to the oven and bake at 170°C for 20 minutes.
  5. Make the Syrup: Remove the oranges and boil the released juice until it thickens into syrup.
  6. Prepare the Cake Batter: In a bowl, melt the unsalted butter. In a mixer, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  7. Combine Ingredients: Gradually add melted butter to the egg mixture, then add orange zest, vanilla, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix gently.
  8. Assemble the Cake: Pour the batter over the caramelized oranges in the pan.
