Ingredients

  1. oil - 2 tablespoons
  2. red chili - 1 (dry)
  3. mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  4. cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  5. chana dal - 1 tablespoon
  6. peanuts - 1/4 cup
  7. urad dal - 1 tablespoon
  8. green chili - 1 (chopped)
  9. ginger - 1 tablespoon (chopped)
  10. curry leaves - 10
  11. onion - 1 medium (sliced)
  12. sweet corn - 1/2 cup
  13. water - 3 cups
  14. fat semolina (dalia) - 1 cup (soaked)
  15. vermicelli (semya) - 1/2 cup
  16. salt - watch the video to see (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil and spices: Heat oil in a pan, add red chili, mustard seeds, and cumin seeds.
  2. Add lentils and peanuts: Add chana dal and peanuts, cook until peanuts are fried. Then add urad dal.
  3. Add aromatics: Add chopped green chili, ginger, and curry leaves.
  4. Cook onions and vegetables: Add sliced onion and cook until slightly soft, then add sweet corn.
  5. Add water and semolina: Add water, bring to a boil, add soaked fat semolina (dalia), and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add vermicelli: Then add vermicelli (semya), mix well, reduce the flame, and let it cook for a few more minutes.
