Ingredients

  1. vegetable oil - to taste (for frying)
  2. onion - 1 (medium, minced)

  5. seven spices - a pinch
  6. cinnamon - a pinch (for rice)
  7. caraway - 1 small tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: Fry the minced onion in vegetable oil until it becomes transparent. If using meat, add it now and cook until done.
  2. Add Chickpeas: Add soaked chickpeas to the pot. If not using meat, add them directly after the onions.
  3. Cook the Chickpeas: Cover with water and simmer until the chickpeas are fully cooked.
  4. Add Rice and Spices: Add cinnamon, caraway, seven spices, and salt. Then add the rice and cook until done.
