  5. lemon - watch the video to see (a squeeze, for basting)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Fish: Place the cod fillet in a pan. Rub a touch of oil underneath and on top of the fish, then season with salt.
  2. Broil the Fish: Set the pan about 6 inches away from a high heat broiler. Let it cook for about 5 minutes.
  3. Baste with Butter: Move the pan to the stove on medium-low heat. Add a little bit of butter to the pan. Once the butter starts to foam up and brown, baste the fish with it for about a minute.
  4. Add Lemon and Finish Basting: Squeeze a little bit of lemon over the fish and baste for a touch more. Continue cooking and basting for a total of 2 and a half minutes on the stove.
  5. Serve: The fish is done when it's light and flaky. Serve immediately.
