Ingredients

  1. tofu - watch the video to see (preferably from Mor Farm, drained and pressed)
  2. oil - watch the video to see (for frying)
  3. garlic - 1 spoonful
  4. ginger - 1 spoonful
  5. onion - watch the video to see (can use red onion, not very crushed)
  6. chili pepper - to taste (optional)
  7. awaze - watch the video to see
  8. house special seasoning for meat frying - watch the video to see
  9. salt - to taste
  10. white pepper - watch the video to see

Instructions

  1. Prepare Tofu: Drain and press tofu to remove as much water as possible. Cut into slices, then into desired size.
  2. Fry Tofu: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add tofu and fry until golden brown. Do not flip too quickly. Once fried, place on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  3. Prepare Awaze Sauce: In the same oil used for frying tofu, sauté onions for about a minute. Add a spoonful of garlic and ginger, and chili pepper if using.
  4. Combine Tofu with Awaze Sauce: Add the fried tofu back into the pan with the onions, garlic, and ginger. Add house special seasoning, salt, and white pepper. Fry together for five to six minutes.
  5. Serve: Serve the fried tofu hot, garnished with fresh onion and garlic if desired.
