Ingredients

  1. Ocean water - watch the video to see (harvested from Puerto Rico, quantity depends on how much salt you want to make)

Instructions

  1. Harvest and Filter: Harvest ocean water from Puerto Rico. Triple filter the water to remove larger particles using a coffee filter or cheesecloth.
  2. Boil the Water: Bring the filtered water to a boil and reduce until it has a consistency similar to wet sand.
  3. Evaporate Water: Spread the reduced water thinly on a pan and finish evaporating in the oven at 250°F until completely dry.
  4. Grind the Salt: Once dry, grind the salt to your preferred fineness using a muleta or similar tool.
