Ingredients

  1. cooking oil - 2-3 tablespoons (for cooking the mince)
  2. mince (qeema) - 200 grams (ground meat for filling)
  3. ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (adrak lehsan paste)
  4. paprika powder - 1 teaspoon (adds smoky flavor and color)
  5. dried oregano - 1/2 teaspoon (herb for seasoning)
  6. black pepper crushed - 1/2 teaspoon (kali mirch, crushed)
  7. red chili crushed - 1/2 teaspoon (lal mirch, crushed)
  8. Himalayan pink salt - 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
  9. tomato - 1 medium (chopped)
  10. egg - 1 (anda)
  11. fresh coriander - 1 tablespoon (chopped, hara dhania)
  12. hoagie rolls - 2-3 rolls (cut in half)
  13. cheddar cheese - as required (grated)

Instructions

  1. Cook the mince: Heat cooking oil on a griddle or pan. Add the mince and mix well until the color changes.
  2. Add spices and cook: Add ginger garlic paste, paprika powder, dried oregano, crushed black pepper, crushed red chili, and Himalayan pink salt. Mix well and cook on medium flame for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add tomato and cook: Add chopped tomato, mix well, and cook on medium flame for 4-5 minutes. Then chop the mixture well.
  4. Add egg and coriander: Add the egg and mix well. Then add fresh coriander and mix thoroughly.
  5. Assemble and toast sandwich: Cut hoagie rolls in half. Add the mince filling and grated cheddar cheese. Flip the sandwich, press with a patty press, and toast from both sides until crispy.
  6. Serve: Cut into pieces, wrap in butter paper, and serve with tomato ketchup.
