Ingredients

  1. whole chicken - 1 (1 full bird, not more than 1 kg or 1100 grams)
  2. chilli powder - 2 tsp
  3. yogurt - 1 cup (thick, water drained)
  4. ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  5. turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  6. garam masala - 1 tsp
  7. cumin powder - 1 tsp
  8. coriander powder - 1 tsp
  9. Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tsp
  10. kasoori methi - 1 tsp
  11. lemon juice - 1 tsp
  12. oil - watch the video to see (as required)
  13. salt - watch the video to see (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Cut the chicken as shown in the video, ensuring to make gashes for better marination penetration.
  2. Marinate with Dry Ingredients: Massage the chicken with chilli powder, salt, and lime juice thoroughly.
  3. Prepare Yogurt Mixture: In a bowl, combine yogurt, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, and chat masala. Mix well, then add lemon juice and oil.
  4. Apply Masala to Chicken: Apply the yogurt mixture to the chicken, ensuring it reaches inside the gashes.
  5. Marinate: Let the chicken marinate in the fridge for at least 1/2 hours to become fully flavorful.
  6. Preheat and Cook: Preheat the oven to the highest temperature, usually 200 degrees Celsius. Cook the chicken for 45-50 minutes, adding oil as required.
  7. Serve: Serve the juicy and tasty Tandoori Chicken once it's ready.
