Ingredients

  1. water - 2 gallons
  2. salt - 2 cups
  3. sugar - 1 cup
  4. crushed garlic - 3 teaspoons
  5. thyme - 4 (sprigs)
  6. sage - 4 (sprigs)
  7. rosemary - 4 (sprigs)
  8. cracked allspice - 1 teaspoon
  9. black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon (cracked)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brine: To two gallons of warm water, add in salt, sugar, garlic, thyme, sage, rosemary, allspice, and black pepper. Stir until the salt dissolves.
  2. Brine the Turkey: Grab a cooler and add in a big plastic bag. Stuff the turkey in there, then pour in the brine. Let it sit overnight.
  3. Prepare for Frying: The next day, take out the turkey and pat it dry.
  4. Fry the Turkey: To a fryer, add in the oil and preheat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Dunk the turkey in there and cook for four minutes a pound.
