  1. shrimp - 800 grams to 1 kilogram (peeled and cleaned, medium or large size)
  2. garlic - 1 tablespoon (minced)
  3. lemon juice - 1 large lemon (from approximately one large lemon)
  4. simple syrup - 1/2 teaspoon (optional, for a hint of sweetness)
  5. salt - 1 teaspoon
  6. coriander - 1 teaspoon
  7. cumin - 1 teaspoon
  8. ginger - 1/2 teaspoon
  9. garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  10. turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon
  11. black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  12. paprika - 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: Mix shrimp with garlic, lemon juice, simple syrup (optional), salt, coriander, cumin, ginger, garlic powder, turmeric, black pepper, and paprika. Marinate for no more than 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Liquid Coating Mixture: Combine flour, water, eggs, minced garlic, ginger, coriander, cumin, black pepper, salt, and paprika in a bowl to a pancake batter consistency.
  3. Prepare the Dry Coating Mixture: In a separate bowl, mix flour, starch, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and optionally crispy breadcrumbs.
  4. Coat the Shrimp: Dip marinated shrimp in the liquid mixture, then in the dry mixture. Ensure each shrimp is well-coated.
  5. Fry the Shrimp: Fry in oil at medium temperature (approximately 180°C) until crispy. Small shrimp need about 2 minutes, large shrimp about 3 minutes.
