Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef: Mix soy sauce with beef shoulder or chuck and ribs. Soak for at least 15 minutes to allow flavor absorption.
  2. Deep fry potatoes and carrots: Deep fry the potatoes and carrots until the outer part starts to brown but not fully cooked. Set aside and reduce the oil in the pan.
  3. Sauté aromatics: Sauté sliced onions for 1 minute, then add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Cook the marinated beef: Add the marinated beef to the pan and cook until the outer part is lightly browned.
  5. Add tomato sauce and water: Pour in tomato sauce and water to cover the beef. Optionally add tomato paste for richer color and flavor.
  6. Simmer until tender: Boil the beef on low heat until completely tender, about 90 minutes depending on beef quality.
  7. Add liver spread and peanut butter: Mix in liver spread and peanut butter to enrich the stew. This can be adjusted based on preference or regional style.
  8. Add optional ingredients: Add green olives (optional) and sliced bell peppers.
  9. Season and combine fried vegetables: Add magic sarap seasoning, then gently mix in the fried potatoes and carrots. Cook for about 3 more minutes.
  10. Add cheese: Sprinkle cheese on top and allow it to melt for added flavor before serving.
