Ingredients

  1. large onion - 1 (cubed)
  2. vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons + more for frying (for frying and dough)
  3. minced meat - 150 grams
  4. salt - to taste (to taste)
  5. cinnamon - 1/4 small tablespoon (1/4 of a small tablespoon)
  6. seven spices - 1/4 small tablespoon (1/4 of a small tablespoon)
  7. flour - 2 cups
  8. olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for dough)
  9. water - 1 cup (for dough)
  10. yogurt - 1 kilo
  11. tomatoes - watch the video to see
  12. tahini - 1 tablespoon
  13. lemon juice - watch the video to see (optional)
  14. garlic - 4 cloves (crushed)
  15. ghee - 1 tablespoon
  16. paprika - 1 small tablespoon
  17. almonds - watch the video to see (chopped, or any nuts)
  18. coriander - 2-3 tablespoons (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: Fry the onion in vegetable oil until transparent, then add minced meat, salt, cinnamon, and seven spices. Cook until the meat is dry.
  2. Prepare the dough: Mix flour, a pinch of salt, olive oil, and water to form a dough. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
  3. Shape and cook dough: Roll out the dough, cut into circles, fill with meat mixture, seal, and boil in water for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Prepare yogurt sauce: Mix yogurt, crushed garlic, tomatoes, tahini, and optionally lemon juice.
  5. Fry or bake dough pieces: After boiling, fry the dough pieces in vegetable oil until browned or bake in the oven.
  6. Roast nuts: In a pan, heat vegetable oil and ghee, add paprika and almonds, and roast until colored.
  7. Serve: Place fried or baked dough pieces on a serving dish, cover with yogurt sauce, garnish with roasted nuts and chopped coriander.
