Ingredients

  1. white potatoes - 500 grams (half a kilo)
  2. salt - 1 teaspoon (for boiling potatoes)
  3. tuna - 1 can (can be in water or oil)
  4. fresh parsley - watch the video to see (chopped)
  5. large egg - 1 (previously beaten)
  6. onion - 1/3 (finely chopped)
  7. salt and pepper - to taste (for seasoning)
  8. breadcrumbs - watch the video to see (or ground toast or salty crackers)

Instructions

  1. Cook Potatoes: Cook half a kilo of white potatoes with a teaspoon of salt in a pot of cold water. Boil and then simmer for 35-40 minutes until tender.
  2. Prepare Onion: Fry a third of a finely chopped onion in a little oil over medium heat until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Mash Potatoes: Once cooled, peel and mash the potatoes.
  4. Mix Ingredients: Combine mashed potatoes with fried onion, chopped parsley, beaten egg, tuna, and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Form Pancakes: Form the mixture into pancakes, using a little oil on your hands to prevent sticking.
  6. Fry Pancakes: Fry the pancakes in hot oil in a Teflon pan until golden brown on both sides.
