Ingredients

  5. salt - 1 g (approximately 1 gram)
  6. neutral oil - watch the video to see (added to adjust spread consistency)

Instructions

  1. Toast Hazelnuts: Spread hazelnuts evenly on a baking tray and toast in the oven for 6 to 8 minutes until toasted but not burnt. If the skins do not come off easily, toast for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  2. Remove Skins: Once toasted, remove the skins from the hazelnuts by rubbing them. Reserve the peeled hazelnuts in a bowl.
  3. Grind Hazelnuts: Place the peeled hazelnuts in a food processor and blend for about 2-3 minutes. Scrape the edges with a spoon as needed until the mixture reaches a smooth, buttery consistency.
  4. Add Flavorings: Add sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and approximately 1 gram of salt to the hazelnut butter. Blend again until well combined and fragrant.
  5. Add Oil and Final Blend: Add a shot of neutral oil to the mixture to achieve a creamy, spreadable consistency. Blend again until smooth.
  6. Adjust Consistency: If a less thick spread is desired, add a little more neutral oil when transferring the spread to a container.
