Ingredients

  1. water - 4 cups (for butterfly pea syrup)
  2. dried butterfly pea flowers - 5 g (about 18-20 flowers)
  3. sugar - 1/2 cup (or to taste, for syrup)
  4. crushed ice - watch the video to see (for assembling)
  5. edible silver glitter - 1/4 teaspoon (for garnish and mixing)
  6. lemon juice - 2-3 tablespoons (freshly squeezed, adjust to taste)
  7. lemon slice - watch the video to see (for garnish)
  8. podina (mint leaves) - watch the video to see (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Butterfly Pea Syrup: In a kettle, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add dried butterfly pea flowers and boil on low flame, letting it steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Dissolve Sugar: Add 1/2 cup sugar to the boiling mixture, mix well and cook until sugar is fully dissolved. Strain the syrup and let it cool to room temperature.
  3. Assemble the Drink: In a glass, add crushed ice, 3/4 cup of the prepared butterfly pea syrup, and 1/4 teaspoon edible silver glitter. Mix well.
  4. Add Lemon Juice and Garnish: Add 2-3 tablespoons lemon juice to the glass and stir. Garnish with a lemon slice and mint leaves. Serve chilled.
