Ingredients

  1. ginger & garlic - 1 teaspoon (crushed)
  2. mint - 1 tablespoon
  3. coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon
  4. green chillies - 1 tablespoon (chopped)
  5. whole garam masala - to taste
  6. salt water - 4 cups (mixed)
  7. rice - 2 cups
  8. biryani masala - 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon
  9. curd - 1 cup
  10. salt - 1 teaspoon
  11. butter - 2 tablespoons
  12. chicken - 500 grams (500 grams)
  13. ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
  14. garam masala - pinch (pinch)
  15. curry leaves - to taste (chopped)
  16. pepper powder - 1 teaspoon
  17. coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  18. cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  19. corn flour - 1 teaspoon
  20. all purpose flour - 1 teaspoon
  21. oil - as needed (for frying + a little)
  22. saffron color - 1 teaspoon
  23. fried onions - to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Rice Mixture: In a bowl, mix 1 tsp crushed ginger & garlic, 1 tbsp mint, 1 tbsp coriander leaves, 1 tbsp chopped green chillies, whole garam masala, 4 cups mixed salt water, and 2 cups of rice. Pour this mixture into a rice cooker.
  2. Prepare Yogurt Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup curd, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp + 1 tsp biryani masala, and 2 tbsp butter. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Prepare Fried Chicken: In a bowl, add 500 grams of chicken, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, a pinch of garam masala, chopped curry leaves, 1 tsp pepper powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp corn flour, 1 tsp all purpose flour, and a little oil. Mix well and fry the chicken pieces in hot oil.
  4. Assemble Biryani: Pour 1 tsp of saffron color over the rice in the cooker. Add the fried chicken pieces and fried onions on top of the rice.
  5. Cook and Serve: Let the rice cooker do its magic until the biryani is cooked. Once done, let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
