parmesan cheese - 2 tablespoons (grated, for finishing)
lemon - 1/2 lemon (juice for finishing)
Instructions
Boil Pasta and Broccoli: Salt a pot of boiling water and add pasta. When pasta is halfway cooked, add broccoli florets and bring back to a boil.
Prepare Garlic and Chili Oil: In a separate pan, heat olive oil. Add garlic and cook until lightly golden brown. Add chili flakes and cook for 10 seconds.
Add Pasta Water: Add some reserved pasta water to the garlic and chili oil to stop the cooking.
Combine Pasta and Broccoli: When pasta is almost done, add pasta and broccoli to the pan with garlic and chili oil. Add more pasta water as needed and cook down until broccoli turns into a sauce.
Finish the Dish: Turn heat to low. Stir in butter, parmesan cheese, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
